Sweet baby boy

Our baby boy is getting so big! His face is changing so much and he is starting to look like a child and not a newborn. Each and every day I am being told by people that he is begining to look like his daddy A LOT more! He is a cutie!!

One Year

Today, Sat, (December 19) marks our 1st year anniversary! Can't believe a year has all ready past. Life truely is but a vapor! Been thinking all day about our wedding day and this past year. God HAS truely blessed us! So happy..but then again, I feel sad, I feel like an "old" married mama!

2 months

This past week Bud turned 2 months!! I can not believe how fast time has flown by!! He has definitely grown. At his two month appointment he weighed 9lbs 14 oz..!! At his appointment he also had shots ='( (poor baby)! He has all ready began to coo, he is getting louder and better at it!! He smiles, he has not laughed yet, but he has tried too...it just coo's out like..."haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa". He is trying to form words (it seems) but still just coos or cries when he can not get out what he is trying to "say". He makes the most funniest cutest faces I have ever seen!!

AND..it looks like he has blue eyes like his mama =) Chris was looking at him a few days ago and said, "WOW, he has really blue eyes!" Chris was so sure he was going to have brown eyes because brown is more dominant, BUT blue is more dominant on my side of the family. It will be interesting to see what our other children will look like (if God allows us to have more)!!

Last two photos is Bud after having his shot-he was NOT a happy camper..! I could tell it only hurt a for a few seconds after because as soon as the nurse left the room, he stopped crying, the nurse walked back in because she forgot some paper work, and he started back up crying, then she walked out the final time and stopped crying!! Can you believe that?? Simply amazing..he definitely can fool a person, but mama knows better, I see RIGHT through him!

O, and from the previous post comment section (from Emily), Yes, I agree with you, I think Obadiah (Bud) is a "good" blend of both Christopher and I. At different times you can see both of "us" in him!! O and I finally was able to catch a few pictures of him smiling =)

Bud (Obadiah) was weighed and measured at our WIC appointment on Thursday, December 03-he is about 9lbs 5oz and about 21.7 inches long!! At birth (which was 1 month and 22 days ago) he weighed 5 lbs 12oz and 19.6 inches long!!

Below is an updated picture of Bud. He sure is growing and changing a lot. It is amazing how fast babies grow and change within the first year!

Bud's two newest things just this past week is one: trying to scoot across the floor on his back and tummy and "discovering his voice". Sometimes he can not get anything out..so he cries really loud...and it always seems to happen during church service (sorry Pastor Houston-leave it up to the Broxton Family to cause problems LOL)

Please continue to be in prayer about Christopher's job situation: that he can keep his job OR find a new one. What ever the Lord's will is. We should know in January.

Life Lately

Obadiah (Bud) is now 7 1/2 weeks, he is getting big and growing fast! YES, he is still "small" BUT he is A LOT bigger then what he was when he was born! His 2 month appointment is on December 14th! We should find out how much he weighs then! He is in 0-3 month clothes (has been in them for a few weeks now) and is in size 1 shoes (he has big feet like his daddy)he is wearing what I like to call "big boy outfits and shoes"! He is now starting to "coo" and trying to talk, working those lungs! He is on Similac Sensitive R.S. (rice formula), Yes, he has a sensitive tummy like his Uncle Zachey! He has been sleeping pretty good through the night...the past few nights have been 8 hours! He is such a handsome little boy!

Christopher has been working and going to school like normal. I would ask prayer for his job. He may not have one in January. Just this past month they called all the temporaries into a meeting to let them know upcoming in January they may be letting a few go. From what Chris says is that the work load has gone from 300 to 30 torpedo in a month--which is drastically low! He has updated his resume and sent (I believe he said over 10, close to 20) applications through the three different bases around here. Please pray that he can keep his job OR find a new one. What ever the Lord's will is. God will take care of us like he has continued to do this past year. I am also thankful that God provided to me a husband who is an extremely hard worker (very rare for his age) and who has been an excellent provider for us. I am very proud and thankful for him.

This year, we not only was out first thanksgiving being married, but also Bud's first thanksgiving! And, we were able to spend it with our family. We actually had 3 thanksgivings! Th/Fri were spent at RJ and Janinne's house-th with Chris's mom and fri with Chris's dad. On Saturday we went to my parents house and had dinner with them. Below is a slide show of the pictures! Baby Dedication!

On Sunday, November 1st we had Obadiah's Baby Dedication. This was more of a Parent Dedication for Christopher and I. To pray and encourage us to raise Obadiah for the Lord. Pastor Read Psalms 127 and Psalms 128:3 (if I am missing a scripture, please let me know by writing a comment of what other scripture he read). What a special time it was for the three of us! Happy Birthday Siblings!!

I have been a little behind on my posts!

Last Sunday, November 8th, our brother, Ryan Dixon, celebrated his 18th Birthday!! We just wanted to wish Ryan a Happy Birthday!! I know many many many people have asked me about Ryan and how he is doing. Ryan is still working at McD's on base. He has also caught up on school and plans on graduating early (possibly this coming up Jan)!! We love you Ryan!!

Today, November 16th, our little sister, Mikayla Dixon is celebrating her 8th Birthday!! Happy Birthday!! It was 8 years ago when she was born!! She is turning into a beautiful smart young lady!! We love you Mikayla and hope you have a WONDERFUL Birthday!!
