Lack of....

Sleep.....possibly?!
I pulled my sweatshirt over my head and bud said, ”NOOO MOMMY YOUR SHIRT IS ON BACKWARDS!!!”

Sure enough I started to put my sweat shirt on backwards!!!

Shows how much sleep I've been getting!!! ;-)

AND-What would I ever do without my big helper boy keeping an eye on me??! ;-)

Photo heavy

EVERY Morning (Afternoon-we are on swing shift) when bud wakes up he asks, 'can I hold my baby sister'!

Then while he is holding her, 'you take a picture of me with my baby sister?'

So, I Have A TON OF PHOTOS!!!!

I am soo amazed at how much bud LOVES his sister!

Baby sister is begining to recognize daddy's voice & big brother's voice. When she hears their voices she begins to look around-you can see the excitement in her face. She has started smiling at them too.

4 weeks!

Has it really already been 4 weeks since our sweet baby girl Rhiannon Renée was born?!

YES!!!

It is hard to believe!

Where has these last 4 weeks gone?!

Time is quickly slipping away! Makes me sad already to think that in a blink of an eye she will be 1 & her big brother will be 4!

Soo...I find myself trying my best to enjoy the long restless nights & get my baby cuddles in before...she grows out of the cuddle stage (I'm secretly hoping she will stay a cuddle bug)!

The first photo is her in front of the christmas tree. She seems to enjoy that spot!

The second photo is of her poor heels from the PKU test taken tuesday!

I find myself having a lot of emotions. Nervous-for the PKU results
Impatient-waiting for the results
Sadness-to think my baby girl could have serious health/mental issues in the future
Fearful-of the diet change & several doctors appointments that could be coming our way
But Yet...
Peace-Knowing God is in control & has a special plan for Rhiannon Renée
Thankfulness-for early prevention & knowledge of doctors
Trust-learning to place my Trust in God more & more each day
Happiness- the beautiful baby girl God has blessed me with-what an honor.

Yes, I am an emotional wreck. ;-)

Please pray for me as I find a balance/routine to taking care of my two children, my husband, my dog & myself. It's been a huge adjustment & to be honest, I've had a hard time getting the hang of things.

Pray for Rhiannon's PKU results, whatever the Lord's Will is with that.

Ohhh..and Pray for me-I have a feeling it is going to be a rough night which means it will turn into a rough day.

(I have been doing several posts trying to keep things in order so I can go back & scrapbook things later-so this has sort of been my 'journal'.)

Doctor Visit

About to leave home to go to the doctors

Waiting patiently to get his stitches out

We were trying to get him to smile-saying different words to make him smile,
then daddy said POOP-EY that made him laugh hard =)

Rhiannon getting her PKU test done

Rhiannon had to get poked twice because she wasn't bleeding enough.
Bud was so concerned!

hmm...what is Chris doing?!

A HAH-I caught him!
"You were looking at your muscles in the mirror weren't you?!"
(the mirror was behind the seat i was sitting in)

"...ummm...no I wasn't...."
Yeah-He Was. LOL

Waiting. Doctor C is preparing the items needed.

Ready, Set--GO!

After Doctor C took out the stitches he put them in Bud's hand to see them.

One More to Go!

The balloon Dr C made for Bud for doing
an AWESOME Job & being a "Rock Star"

Today was the day to get Bud's stitches out & for Rhiannon's PKU test.

I love going to our doctors office. They have a Nintendo 64 (my favorite game system) with the game Mario Kart.  Well, Bud wanted to race daddy today & didn't want help. So, mommy didn't get to whip daddy's butt ;)

Rhiannon's last PKU test showed abnormalities.  They wanted to take another one.  The nurse said that since it showed abnormalities something showed up on the test & that they wanted to do another one just to be sure.  The same nurse who took the last one took this one.  She had to poke Rhiannon two times because she was not bleeding much.  Poor baby girl.

Bud's turn was next!  Dr C was soooo surprised at how well Bud did. He said, "I have never known any 3 year old sit so well like he did getting 7 stitches out, and I have been doing this for over 20 years!"  Chris said, "Actually, you know 1 now ;) "  Bud was Awesome!  Dr C called him a "Rock Star" made him a balloon then went out & bragged about him to the nurses!

As we were leaving the office Chris overheard another nurse talking to the other receptionists saying that they found out they were doing PKUs wrong.  But, Chris said The nurse who did Rhiannon's PKU did it correct both times. Takes a week or two to get the results back. So we will see. For now-Waiting game.

Trust

Listening to i-tunes tonight and the following songs played in this order:

Silent Strength
Lord I Need You
In Times Like These

Just what I needed at the right time.

This verse came to mind:

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

PKU

Today I got a phone call...

Rhiannon Renée had abnormalities from the PKU test taken 2 weeks ago. Her doctor wants us come in to do another PKU test.

I wasn't too sure what all this was so I had to do a Google search on: PKU

It Just so happens that tomorrow Bud has an appointment to get his stitches out so we will be doing the PKU Test then so we don't have to make another trip to the doctors office!

Oh Christmas Tree...

Chris set up this christmas tree yesterday!

Bud was so super excited! He said, 'we have a christmas tree now we need presents'

He discovered the box of decorations & started decorating. The tree became bottom heavy ;-)

Dad evened things out a little bit by decorating the top portion!

I am excited to celebrate Christmas for the first time in Our Home!

So Loved.

Pretty in pink!

Let me tell you-I am Loving all the Girl-y Colors....and hair pretties!

Our little girl isn't spoiled-ohh NO she is just WELL LOVED BY EVERYONE!
People 'fight' over who gets to hold her.
Bud says, 'You No fight over my baby sister!'

I stepped on the scale with Rhiannon, the difference was 6.6lbs!

Growing little girl! Woot!

Hot Sauce

I try & go to the Holiday Food & Craft show at the Kitsap Fairgrounds every November.

At this fair there is the Hot Sauce Vendor-Heavenly Heat.  They have some pretty GOOD sauces including really HOT ones.

Usually, I would save this as an Anniversary Gift. But, Chris was in a "hot-sauce" mood...a REALLY "HOT-Sauce Mood"

Chris says, "I see how much you love me-trying to kill me off by finding a hot sauce I can not handle!"

NAH-not At ALL ;)  He just enjoys hot sauce

Last year I bought:  Meet your maker Death Sauce
This year I bought: Meet your maker Retribution Sauce

So hot they come in coffins ;)

BUT-Not hot enough for my husband!

So the search continues....to find a hot sauce so hot my husband can't handle!

bud!

We just Love how he can fall a sleep pretty much anywhere!

Such a funny boy!

babies

Our Sweet Babies

Some funnies I have to share that was spoken in our house:

Bud's new saying, "ohhhhhh yeeeaaaahhhhh..."

Bud- "I want to hold my baby on my lap"
Mom- "Baby is sleeping right now.."
Bud- Pokes his baby "Baby up now!"

Chris-"Ohh honey you don't need beauty sleep-you are the most beautiful person!"
Jeanné-"I'm not worried about beauty sleep, I want my energy sleep!"

Bud- "Mom baby is crying, my baby poopey?"
Mom- "Yes, baby is poopey."
Bud- "Why mom?"
Mom- "Because that is what babies do-poop."
Bud- "Mom that's a funny one!"

First Stitches

On November 22 (THANKSGIVING) night Chris &Uncle Ryan had to rush Obadiah to the ER.  Bud tripped over his backpack & landed on the corner of the wall while visiting at Papa Mark & Nanna Cindy's house.

About 45 minutes prior I left to go out to some stores with my momma. I received the phone call & froze.  Bud has fallen hard several times before & hit his head but for there to be a gash-that Chris felt he needed to take him in.  WOW. I was shocked. I couldn't believe it.  My mom & I left Walmart & headed to the ER.

When I arrived bud was sitting on the bed with a big ol bandage on his head, waiting to be prepped for stitches!

Obadiah got 2 stitches on the inside & 7 on the outside of his head.  The gash was 7/8 in long 1/4 in deep!

He was a trooper!  He did sooo well!  Very proud of our Big Boy!

I have to call his Doctor on Monday to set up an appt to come in (5 days after) to get his stitches on the outside taken out.  Aunt Janinne thinks it is already healing very well-so that is a plus!

Here are some photos.......If you are brave enough to view..... ;)

Renée

I meant to post this....a few weeks ago!

WAY back in July we found out we were expecting a sweet baby girl.  We had a few names picked out but nothing was really 'sticking'. This baby girl did not have a name for  a few weeks after the ultrasound!

Chris came to me one day & said, "What do you think about the name Rhiannon?!" At first, I could Not pronounce it! It took me a a little while to get it down.  Chris was not sure about a middle name. So, I said, "You find a middle name & we will use it!"

A day or two later he said, "What do you think about Rhiannon Renae?! Renae, Anna Houston's middle name?"   I loved it. I think it flows soo well!

Well, we began to share the name with family & friends.

The Original Spelling-Rhiannon Renae (not knowing the spelling of Anna's middle name).  Anna teased us & said something like, "Well you could have at least spelled her middle name the right way!" ;)

So we decided to change the spelling to Renée.  We officially had a name for our precious baby girl on the way.  I told Anna, "Since Chris thought of you when trying to decide on a middle name, we will use the same spelling.  Also, we pray that our baby girl will become a beautiful Godly lady like you!"

In October our Pastor delivered some heavy news about his daughter Anna Renée, that she has been diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML).

The name we chose for our precious baby girl became even more special & dear to us.

The first Sunday that Little Miss Rhiannon Renée came to church, just so happened to be Orange Sunday (in honor for Anna).  Anna had not yet met or held Rhiannon.  I captured a few special photos of these two beautiful gals!

I have to keep an eye on Anna-she warned me that she *may* take Rhiannon home--I may take her up on that If she keeps her during the night ;)

Anna-we love you & are praying for you...

Baby Dedication

Boy-does it seem like JUST Yesterday that we had Bud's Baby Dedication But that was about 3 years ago. Hard to believe how times flies!
On Sunday, November 18 we had Rhiannon Renée's baby dedication (which is more like a 'parent' dedication, in our opinion).
Our Pastor read:

  • Ephesians 6:1~ Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. (A verse that Bud is becoming More familiar with) ;)
  • Ephesians 6:4~ And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
  • Psalms 127~ Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain. [It is] vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: [for] so he giveth his beloved sleep. Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward. As arrows [are] in the hand of a mighty man; so [are] children of the youth. Happy [is] the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
  • Psalms 128:3~ Thy wife [shall be] as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

(Scriptures above are copied from Blue Letter Bible)

We always enjoy hearing these scriptures.  They are words of encouragement & such great reminders!
