Well I don't know why I am disappointed & a little discouraged. I should have seen this coming....I'll blame my emotions on the pregnancy hormones ;)
Today I am 25 weeks & 1 day
Today Rhiannon is measuring at 23 weeks & 1 day. Weighing in at 1lb 3oz with a heartbeat of 163!
All my pregnancy apps on my phone, books & online says at 25 weeks a baby should weigh about a pound & a half. So, that made me feel a little better that Miss Rhi is only about 4-5oz behind...but then I realized a few ounces makes a difference for a little baby.
(sigh)
So we are about 2 weeks behind on growth. Chris says about 10% behind/below on weight gain (story of my life). He also said...that means I HAVE to just Eat a ton & Drink a ton...even when I feel like I can't.
I was asked if I Smoke/Drink, Had high blood pressure or diabetes. No to all 4 questions. Then was asked if I drink plenty of fluids. The answer to that is I could improve on that (I Should improve). Then...got a nice lecture from the ultrasound tech about drinking more fluids. =)
I googled, "how many glasses a water a day?" Answer is Eight-8 fl oz Fluid meaning fluids...doesn't have to be water. Tea, milk, juice is ok. That is 4 of my Arrowhead water bottles...do-able. Considering when I put an unsweetened tea packet in one its gone...very shortly.
Then I googled, "how many glasses of water a day while pregnant?" Answer is Aim for eight 8-ounce glasses per day (64 fluid ounces) of fluid, plus one 8-ounce cup for each hour of light activity. Milk, juice, decaffeinated drinks, and caffeinated drinks all contain plenty of water and "count" toward your fluid intake.
Then I googled, "Low amniotic fluid (oligohydramnios)" Here is what I found: "Your practitioner may suspect this problem if you're leaking fluid, measuring small for your stage of pregnancy, or not feeling your baby move very much. She may also be on the lookout for it if you've previously had a baby whose growth was restricted; if you have chronic high blood pressure, preeclampsia, diabetes, or lupus; or if you're past your due date."
Interesting thing is....the ultrasound tech asked how big bud was at birth, how far along he was, and then asked the other 5 questions above. So, I am interested in what my doctor will say. Unfortunately, I for see several more ultrasounds & eventually Non Stress Tests..which I was hoping to....avoid.
Don't you just love google?! ;)
Rhiannon was moving around like crazy! Here are a couple snap shots!

Yes, those are her toes by her nose! Flexible little girl! We also saw her hand over her face...we call her Drama Queen when she does that. Chris said or maybe she is just trying to hide her face? To me, looks like she is being dramatic. With the back of her hand on her forehead ;) We didn't get a photo of that this ultrasound (we already have one!)
We asked for a photo of the spine since we didn't get a clear photo at our "big" ultrasound. This is one of Chris's favorite shots. He was disappointed we didn't get a clear one at the big ultrasound. Its just amazing to see those lines of pearls & the ribs. God is good!
Please pray that I take in more fluids. I wouldn't mind encouragement. As long as it is serious...not joking. Its discouraging because I struggle with eating/drinking plenty & gaining weight.
Skinny people are sensitive to weight topics too ;)
